Okay. Finally, some pregnancy talk.

I think, for real, that I felt AndyZ kick me just now. TWICE. I really think this was it. This time.

I thought I felt it about 2 or 3 weeks ago but I wasn’t sure. If you’re prone to negative outcomes to pregnancy, you never assume anything. Hell, I wasn’t even letting myself seriously consider having this baby until the last ultrasound. Hence, the limited pregnancy chatter. So, that day I was very quick to say, “Maybe…” after and before telling the family that I might have felt the baby move.

Since then (I’m 19w1d right now) I’ve felt several other small movements or hits that may (or may not) be the baby moving. Nothing concrete. I don’t think. Hell, it may be at that point that any other woman would be wincing right now, while I’m all I just don’t know….

But just NOW – as in: just a few seconds before I started typing – I really think the baby kicked me. Twice. He did it once and I was all Oh! That was it! I think! and then one second later Oh! Again!.

So, here it is. I think I’m really going to have a baby now. In case you were in doubt.

  1. Thee greatest feeling in the world. Ever.

I’ve started feeling the kicks on and off for a couple weeks now… each time I wonder if that was it. LOL

  2. I never doubted it for a second. Those first kicks are among the sweetest moments in. the. world. I am so excited for you!

  3. I’m not an overly mushy person, but that feeling is so amazingly awesome. It’s just so neat.

  4. Woo hoo for AndyZ!!!
I love that feeling! Penelope is a wild one and is constantly on the move…she is kicking hard enough already that other people can feel her!

  5. Yay! I’ve been feeling my baby move for about a month now, but the kicks just started in earnest last week. They are awesome, even when she kicks me hard in the bladder and it’s kind of painful. I love feeling her move around; so reassuring!

  6. Congrats, Zoot-mama! That is so amazing!
While I have yet to have a baby (or get married, or engaged, for that matter), I remember when my mom was pregnant with my 10-years-younger little sister and the first time she kicked. She was so excited (and nervous) that she didn’t know how to react.

  8. Hooray for pregnancy talk! 😀 I think I was a bit more nervous until you started talking about it, but now there’s much less nervous and way more HAPPY! 😀

  9. Yay!

I’m just a couple of weeks behind you, and keep feeling the flutters. I think that finally makes it seem real. Go AndyZ!!!

  10. Woohoo for Andy!! I’m currently being kicked to death as we speak, and keep having to remind myself that a foot in the cervix is a good thing *lol*

  11. Yay! Those first few kicks are so exciting. I’m to the point in my pregnancy now where I beg her constantly to please stop kicking for the love of God!

  13. At first I was relieved when I read this post. At 17 1/2 weeks I’ve started to worry that I haven’t felt anything yet, when at this point last time I definitely had… and I thought I was supposed to feel them earlier the second time around. ‘Oh whew,’ I thought, ‘Zoot’s at 19 weeks and is just feeling them now.’ Then you said that you’d probably feeling them for 2 or 3 weeks at this point, so theh worrying has re-commenced.

Not to make this ALL about me though: congrats on the kicks! It is a cool feeling!

  14. Yay for pregnancy chatter! 🙂 I live vicariously through my blog friends who are pregnant (and the married ones, and engaged ones, and the dating ones … I lead an exciting life I tell you!) and love to read about it!

  15. I think I felt mine move today. It was a little surreal… plus, I was at school so I couldn’t really tell anyone about it right away (try a bunch of 5th-graders, who already told me I must be lying about being pregnant because I “don’t look pregnant”).
Or it could have been a little gas bubble. Who knows?!

  16. Uh oh… if he’s kicking now when you’re writing about him, how hard will he be kicking when you’re telling us about prom dates?? 🙂

    YAY for movement!

  17. That is so exciting! I remember thinking that it felt like butterflies were fluttering when the kicking started. This is GREAT news! What about some pictures? 🙂
