Thing 2

Humorous Disobedience

My daughter is incredibly stubborn and opinionated. I always joked that with LilZ we only had a few moments of “Terrible 2” during his second year, but with NikkiZ? It’s a few moments a day. And she is not even 2 for a few more days. She has developed a sharp attitude and a love for the word, “No!” She especially loves to use it over, and over, and over again.

But – she is also learning to be so polite. So she combines the two. She says, “Move! Momma! Please!” Or possibly, “Hold me NOW, Momma! Thank You Much!” And no matter how stressful and hard to discipline this phase is – it cracks me up. Every time.

  1. LOL…Chickie was much like LilZ. Meelie was so much like you are describing Nikkiz to be. It’s a fun age, but like you say, it can be stressful

I really love that picture. Is she trying to “pick” that pumpkin? It looks like it’s about half her size!

  2. At least she has the please and thank you’s down!! I am lovin the kids I have been babysitting lately. A 4 year old and a 6 month old and they are both so precious….tantrums are NOT fun however. 😉

  3. I am going to start yelling at people and following it up with a “Thank you much!” I wonder if it works if you’re not two and adorable…

  4. Mine (22 mos.) is going through the same thing! ‘I watch Diego NOW, please.’ and ‘NO!… kank ku, mommy.’

  5. I can’t tell you how many times I had to “fuss” and then go hide and laugh. God I miss those days. Now I just fuss. And it’s not funny.

  6. LOL!! My girls loved the word no too. And my son, Drew, prefers the more formal… No I will NOT!. Or in response to something like go to room he comes back with, “I am not going to my room!” It’s really trying at time but it also cracks me up too.
