Family, Thing 1, Thing 2

Aftermath

The wedding was beautiful. Before I discuss how my children did (awesome) – I just wanted to make that clear. It was fantastically wonderful in every way.

The plan for the wedding was for the groomsmen to process by themselves, then the ringbearer and flowergirls, then the bridesmaids. After being completely insistant to the coordinator at rehearsal that NikkiZ would NOT walk down holding hands with the ringbearer (she’s typically more nervous around boys than girls) they decided to let LilZ be the last groomsman to walk and to try to walk NikkiZ down with the backup plan being that he just pick her up and carry her.

I couldn’t see when they started down the aisle because I was all the way up front, but it turns out she walked past about 3 rows and then asked LilZ to carry her the rest of the way. So, when I saw them, LilZ had her on his hip and she was very sweetly laying her head on his shoulder with an angelic smile on her face. It wasn’t the plan? But it was incredibly cute and perfect in every way. LilZ brought NikkiZ to me in the front row and she immediately decided she wanted to run around like a maniac. I got her to calm down with the pencils and she laid down on her stomach and drew for a little while. I was patting her on her back and the next time I looked she had passed out. She slept through the entire ceremony, which was perfect for me.

The wedding was wonderful and we all had a ball at the reception. The bride and groom have two of the dancing-est bunch of families on the planet. LilZ probably burned 4000 calories considering how he dance for about three hour straight. I spent most of my time on the dance floor with nikkiZ in my arms – leaving my left bicep incredibly sore. Sometimes NikkiZ would even dance herself, and it was freakin’ adorable.

  1. I’ve never seen a flower girl or ring bearer mess up a wedding. Never. No matter what they do, it is always adorable. My favorite was a teeny, tiny flower girl/ring bearer duo who giggled the entire way down the aisle. The entire congregation was laughing and the moment couldn’t have been more perfect.

Glad you guys had a great time!!

  2. I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos. You all look fabulous in the ones you’ve posted.
