Thing 2

Keep your fingers crossed

NikkiZ has a follow-up appointment today to make sure her ear infection is gone. I really hope it is because if we have to give her more antibiotics which will inevitably give her another rash/yeast infection – I may have to start drinking. Screw the whole “unsafe for nursing mothers” thing.

I’m looking forward to the weighing portion of the doctor’s visit this time. I swear, it seems like she has put on a few pounds in the last week. And no, it can’t be the solid foods because she’s still not really eating any. She might entertain a few bites here and there, but she still prefers all boob, all the time.

(Trying to resist the urge to make a “just like her father” joke.)

(Oops.)

So – pray that NikkiZ’s ears are Infection Free so that her privates can remain Rash Free and her mother can remain Emotional Breakdown Free. Or at least Fussy Baby Induced Emotional Breakdown Free. I don’t think we can do anything about the Separation Anxiety From Her Camera or Sleep Deprivation Induced Emotional Breakdowns. They’re already written in the stars.

  1. What a cutie!! I haven’t been over in a while to see pics, sorry. But I LOVE Nikki’s hair! So pretty!
I hope her ear infection goes away too!

  2. So cute with the matching green!

And if you nurse her while you’re drunk, I’m sure it’ll help her forget about her problems, too.

    Kidding.

  3. Oh, and I also heard (and know from stories my recessive-gened friends’ parents have told me) that children with red hair, fair skin, light eyes, etc have more health problems. Something about their genes being recessive. I wonder if that has any merit.

    I hope not, for y’all’s sake 🙁

  4. Okay, putting a few comments in one box…first: I hope her ear infection is completely gone too! She’s absolutely adorable and you are all lucky to have each other?! So, when’s the next Nikki (or Nick) Z?

Second: the neighborhood scavanger hunt thing: never did it, although is sounds cool, and definitely like something I would’ve done when I was younger! Of course, around here, to get to someone else’s house you have to DRIVE ten miles.

Third: I was TOTALLY grounded…one summer I had to spend EVERY DAY at my grandmother’s house where there was Nobody there and no cable! HORRORS! But I’ll tell you, it turned out great because I had the same reaction Lil’Z is having, I found other ways to amuse myself and my imagination grew and grew….which could be why I’m scared of the dark…hmmm….

  5. Dude, you are totally color coordinated with the springy green! I know everyone has noticed that, but I had to chime in. And I am crossing my fingers for healthy clean ears. Both my girls have had chronic ear infections and the itchy booty resulting from so many rounds of antibiotics.

  6. Make ya a deal…I’ll send “no more ear infection” vibes your way, if you send “no surgery needed” vibes my way for Friday’s appointment with the orthapedic doctor. As much as I want my back troubles to go away NOW…that’s not the avenue I want to take!

(yeah, I used your comment box to drum up sympathy for myself…i’m such a goober!)

  7. remember that post you made about how there all these perfect moms that get all their housework done and do all this and that and are wonderful people to boot…. I bet they dont coordinate their socks with their child’s outfit. You rock!

  8. Fingers and toes crossed, ma’am! This means you have to update us later…ya know! 🙂

  9. Hoping the infection is cleared up.

(And I love that you match your attire to your daughter’s)

  10. she could SO be a commercial baby. 😉 too cute. and you guys MATCH!!! 😉

    here’s to clean “areas”. heh.

  11. LOL
Doesn’t it freak you out when you socks do that? The heels I mean? Actually those type of socks in general freak me out, like a cat with tin foil on his feet.

  12. Look at that face, she’s all, “You will continue to give me whatever I want until the end of time because I Am Extremely Beautiful. Also Smart and Sly.”

  13. Cute!
An old roommate of mine went through a phase where she would buy (and chew) gumballs to match her clothes. Do you match your socks to NikkiZ’s clothes, or her clothes to your socks?

  14. Not that I am comparing, but I am so glad your kid isn’t eating much solids, either. It’s been a bit of a struggle to get my own to eat the baby stuff, but then he snarfs on lentil soup picked up from the Greek place where we like to eat. And that just seems wrong. sigh.

LOVE the picture – nice perspective!
