Thing 1

Being a big girl.

We are about to hit the road to take LilZ to meet his Dad in Birmingham. His Dad actually lives out of state, but we’re meeting in Birmingham to make the transfer. This is his year to have LilZ for Christmas, so he will be at his house until the 26th. THAT IS TEN WHOLE DAYS. I will have to live ten days without seeing my son. And one of those days? Is Christmas.

That sucks donkey balls.

But, it’s the way we do things, and it works. His Dad and I trade Christmas and Thanksgiving every other year, and we had the world’s most perfect Thanksgiving this year, so I can’t complain.

Well, of course I CAN complain…and do…often…

Expect the next ten days to be sprinkled with entries about how much I miss LilZ and how he probably isn’t thinking about me at all because he has the NERVE to actually have a good time WITHOUT ME. HOW DARE HE??!!

  1. I am sorry LilZ won’t be home for Christmas. I can’t believe you said Donkey balls. I say that too and my hubby said I was weird. I have never heard anyone else say it. Too cool.

  2. I’ll bet he misses his sister while he’s gone, too. By the way — did you notice LilZ has a kind of demented pirate expression on his face in this pic? Maybe he is pondering the sadness, unpredictability, and general saltiness of the Great Donkey Balls of Life? Ahoy, mateys!

  3. I think that was the hardest part of splitting holidays with my ex. I always felt terrible. I know Lilz will miss you guys. And it’s okay to complain to us. We understand!

  4. Awww. I’m so sorry you need to spend Christmas without your son. I can completely understand how you must feel. He won’t forget about you, I swear! I bet he’ll be thinking of how his sister is spending her day, and what she got from Santa too. Well, I hope Sanata bring you everything you all want this year, you obviously have been very good! I wouldn’t mind reading your complaint either, it will give me something to do when I’m not complaining about my life. hehehe! Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

P.S.- I wrote you an email a few days ago, not sure if you got a chance to read it or not, but when and if you do, could you please get back! Thanks!

  5. Wow, that sucks so much! 🙁
But, my stepdaughters NEVER get to spend Christmas with their dad because their Mom FORBIDS it and he doesn’t fight her on it. So it’s cool that you guys can compromise.
And I’m sure, like my stepdaughters do, Eliah loves having two seperate Christmas mornings!

  6. You are a very wonderful Mom for putting your sons needs before your own. This will pay off when he is older and does not hate you for keeping him from his Father.

    (and what a great picture!)

  7. oh, i’m sorry! i’ll gladly read up these coming entires! i think you are a wonderful mom and that LilZ will really miss you lots!
(and can i say that i just love that picture, because NikkiZ’s face is fabulous!)

  8. This isn’t going to help, but… He looks almost like a TEENAGER IN THE PICTURE! Ack! Put books on his head to stop him from growing up.
