Adulting, Pregnant

Some Firsts

Here are some pictures of some novel “firsts” as homeowners.

1. LilZoot doing his first task, taking down the sign on our closet door that pointed out the “bonus feature” of the light turning off when you close the door.
2. MrZoot’s first time looking cute and adorable in our bedroom.
3. MrZoot’s first home repair. He was changing the door hinge so it wouldn’t spring shut and lock the animals in the bedroom.
4. The FIRST thing I unpacked into our new house: LilZoot’s most prized possession – his Great-Grandmother’s handmade quilt. He’s VERY proud of it. As he should be.

These are the items I bought today to commemorate the official start of my second trimester. It was VERY tough to decide what to buy because the voices in my head kept telling me I was jinxing the pregnancy. I came home and IMMEDIATELY checked for the heartbeat! (It was there).

  1. I’m so jealous! A whole new house to play with and decorate and paint and everything – I think I’d pop from excitement!

    Lucky Zoots 🙂

  2. Congrats on the home and second trimester!
I also looked at your flickr photos, wedding and animals. LOOOOVE them!

  3. findingmagnolia – This is the story of our family. We believe that every child deserves to grow up in a loving family, so we have chosen to build our family through adoption. We brought Magnolia Zinash home in Autumn 2010. She is a joy and a pleasure, worth every single ounce of hard work it took to get her here. We couldn't be happier. We plan to adopt again in the future, definitely once, but I've heard that children are like tattoos, and once you have one, you just can't stop wanting more. Maybe we'll end up with the equivalent of full sleeves and a mural on our backs. Or maybe it will just be Zinashi and a sister. You'll have to wait to find out.

Congratulations on all the firsts in your new home, and also on the beginning of your second trimester. The cutie baby things you got just make me want to sit here and go SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! So adorable!

  4. Oh my gosh, between the flying chipmunks of doom soccer cak, your new house, and Mr.Zoot modeling baby clothes, you are one cute family. I’m so so SO happy for you guys. (And you know you’re having a girl, right? You two are going to be an awesome mommy and daddy)

  5. msmaryb – Oklahoma – I'm a native Californian who lives in Oklahoma. I'm a full-time student, pursuing a Bachelors in Anthropology, following which I hope to attain a Masters in Archaeology. I have three kids, one husband, no pets, and a lot of friends - most of whom live inside my computer. I love to read, write, watch tv (shut up, we can't all be brain surgeons), shop, and travel. I'm trying to set foot in all 50 states before I die. I have 38, so far. I love the Beatles and Maroon 5, and if you think those two things are incongruous, well, they are. But that's me. When I love something, I love it 100%. I don't do anything halfway. I want to know everything there is to know, so I'm trying to cram as much into my brain as I can in the short amount of time I'm allotted in this dimension.

What a neat quilt. Lil Z is right to cherish it. And I love the outfits. Excellent choice. The designs on them are cute and those gowns make diaper changes in the night soooooo easy! I wish I’d had more of them.

  6. totally gratifiying pictures of baby clothes….baby clothe fix fixed…..Thanks!!!

  7. Woah, you were brave enough to buy something in pink!! You’re such a rebel! Even after I found out that my daughter was a girl, I refused to buy a specific gender related color in anything! I wish I had balls like that.

I find out the sex of this baby one week from today. I’m dying with anticipation. And after seeing this post, I’m going to try to promise myself to buy at least a few items that are gender related 😉 Thanks.

    And congrats !!! 🙂
