Don’t Forget!

Or – Don’t Let ME Forget!

NaBloPoMo starts SATURDAY. That is a crappy day to start National Blog Posting Month, but I heard that Eden’s efforts to change the calendar this year to move November 1st to Monday didn’t work.

(Just kidding! No one tried to change the calendar! I promise!)

If you’re going to participate, set up an account at the above link. I think there are some issues going one with friend-ing and such, but if you want – here’s my profile. I would love to be your NaBloPoMo friend! You don’t have to set up an account to participate, of course. All you have to do is vow to write a blog entry every day in November. EVERY DAY. Last year I upped the challenge to myself by writing 100 entries in November. And I did it. But I will not be pledging that again. I’m not that KRAZEE.

I think I am going to challenge myself to comment more. I’m not sure how I’m going to do it yet, but I’m going to figure out some way that both motivates me to comment on YOUR site while also motivates YOU to comment on MINE. Because I’m a selfish comment whore, of course. I’m also trying to think of some way we can help each other come up with topics every day – I’m open to suggestions if you have any. This is a group effort, I believe. We can’t do it alone.

(Someone is making this awfully dramatic…)

So – are you going to play?

  1. I signed up and landed smack in the middle of “huh. now what”. (I’m really not understanding how I get it – something – to make the connection between my posts on my blog to the noblopowhatchamacallit site…)

BUT! I’ll figure it out and hopefully not lose my damn mind!

    Cheers to noblopohuhwha!

  2. I’m not doing it this year. I did it last year and ended up hating blogging that month but didn’t want to quit since I made the commitment to do it. So this year I’ll sit it out – anything that robs me of the joy of blogging isn’t for me.

  3. I’m doing it! I’m playing!
I did it last year for the first time, and since then I’ve been a lot better at posting more often (but still not stellar).
So! Totally doing it again, and hoping to see more improvement in my consistency the rest of the year.

And thank you for letting us all know- I found out about it from you last year :)

  4. I signed up, plus I’m doing NaNoWriMo this year too. I have no expectations and am more determined just to write everyday rather than play at being a writer just to make a quota at the end of the month. (Which is what I’ve done in previous NaNoWriMos. Yeah, I made it, but I don’t have anything to show for it.)

  5. Ok, you’ve motivated me. I’m going to do it. Of course, I move this month, so I’ll be really surprised if I manage it…but I am REALLY going to try.

  6. Since this is my inaugural blog year, I suppose I should play. But GAH! Going to need topic help. I am just not that interesting.

  7. I’m restarting blogging, but I don’t think I could handle the pressure to try to write everyday. Plus, I don’t have internet at my abode, so I’d have to get those done during the week too, and I think all that would just make me want to quit again. But good luck to everyone doing it, I’ll definitely be taking advantage of all the reading material!

  8. I’m gonna try – my posting has been so sporadic lately that I only hope I can manage to post every day for a month. I think commenting more is a good goal as well. I’m going to try and do that!

  9. I’m doing it! I did it last year and I’m so excited about this year! I am on the blogroll but I’m not about to try to do the friend-ing thing. I can’t even figure out MySpace and Facebook, why would I try to figure out friend-in? (really I haven’t even tried to yet. maybe I should get on that) It’s almost here! Yay!

  10. i’m doing it! i left you a comment to be my friend on your page because i’m stupid and couldn’t figure out how to friend you. boo. i hate how the technology has escaped me already.

i looooooved your prompts — very helpful. i might try that as well.

i never post, but i have always wanted to try this. clearly i’ve lost it.

  11. I think I’m going to try it again. I did it last year, but I threw up a lot of crappy posts just to fill the space. So this year I will try. I’m not sure if I can do it, I’ve been posting sporadically as it is, so we’ll see. I loved doing it last year and I “met” so many great new blogs and had conversations with so many great bloggers.

  12. I voted twice for your recipe! I’ve got mad skills like that.

Oh, but this post is about NaBloPoMo, which I unfortunately cannot do this year. My excuse is we’re going to be out of our home country for 13 of 30 days. Pretty darn good excuse in my opinion, but this will be my first year in THREE years of missing it!

  13. I’m totally in and excited for it! I’m hoping that I’ll be able to grow through this a bit.

Once I figure out how to work the NaBloPoMo website, I will try to friend you… oh, the Facebook-like pressure!!

  14. I totally forgot about NaBloPoMo this year :(. I suppose I could start today with two posts but its not the same. Good luck with it! I did well last year.

  15. I’m doing it! I already have you on my list of friends from last year’s NaBloPoMo.

We’ll see how it goes with a 3 month old. She doesn’t like me to spend too much time online. Go figure.

  16. There’s no way that I can post every day, but I am trying to do NaNoWriMo. Also appears to be impossible with a baby in the house, but whatevs. I started my commenting goal a little bit ago as you probably noticed. I love talking to other bloggers more, but it means that I run really behind in when I comment… like this one is what… four days late? Oy!
